Soil can be defined as a loose mixture of rock fragments and organic material that can support the growth of vegetation. Soil is mainly made up of four things, organic material, non-organic material, water, and oxygen. A soil profile is the different arrangements of soil from the very oldest (bottom) layer to the youngest (top) layer. This can be used to help identify the age of the soil and also help show the location. A layer that is on top of another layer is younger than the one below it. Climate change is a result of many different things. Examples are Earth's inner core which lets off it's own heat, changing the climate, as well as changes in the intensity coming from the sun. Climate can be affected by humans as well. Some external forces are changes in solar radiation, permutation of the Earth's orbit, as well as changes in green house gas concentrations. |
